Pearl Izumi rolls, but no longer runs

Pearl Izumi used to offer clothing for mountain bikers, racing cyclists, triathletes and joggers. However, the Japanese sportswear company is now pulling out of running - and will focus entirely on clothing for cyclists in future.

Pearl Izumi was founded in Japan over 60 years ago and the company has been part of Shimano since 2008. Now the Pearl Izumi managers have decided to go "all in" for the cycling division and announced that they are leaving the running apparel business. According to this management decision, Pearl Izumi will focus entirely on cycling apparel from January 2017. Pearl Izumi will therefore focus on clothing for road cycling, mountain biking and triathlon and also offer shoes and accessories.
