Poc is in new hands

Mountain sports specialist Black Diamond, the previous owner of POC, has sold the Swedish company for 65 million. The new owner is an investor who already has a finger in the pie in the bike business.

According to Black Diamond, POC has changed hands for 65 million US dollars. Poc is now part of the portfolio of Investcorp, an investment firm from Bahrain that has already invested in the bike business with Dainese. Stefan Ytterborn, POC founder and CEO says: "We are excited to reach the next stage of our development with Investcorp, with Investcorp POC is able to further accelerate growth, increase sales, penetrate new markets and drive innovation."

In July 2012, Black Diamond acquired POC for the purchase price of 44.9 US dollars. The sale was the result of a decision to focus on the core business. In the 2014 financial year, Poc generated a turnover of around 34.8 million US dollars with clothing, helmets, protectors and other equipment such as goggles for biking and skiing.
