Galaxus offers high-quality bikes for sale on the web

Farewell to distribution via specialist retailers
Should it be an e-bike from the German manufacturer Hercules, a racing bike from Wheeler or Ghost - or a "Meta AM 1" from Commençal? If you shop online at Galaxus, you also have a wide selection of two-wheelers, not just bikes, but also accessories.

The former Commençal supplier for Switzerland, TST Trading GmbH from Gelterkinden, announced in summer 2014 that it would no longer be distributing the bikes from Andorra via specialist retailers. "Due to the very different distribution strategies of the two companies, we have decided to no longer represent the brand in Switzerland," TST told specialist retailers in August 2014. Commençal now relies much less on marketing via specialist retailers and is more strongly represented on online marketplaces in Switzerland and abroad; in this country, Commençal bikes have been available to buy from Galaxus.ch since September 2014.

Rudimentary information
The Galaxus online store provides rudimentary information on Commençal bikes. A brief description, the weight, suspension travel or the shifting components are listed. It's not enough to provide comprehensive information about the bike: For the braking system, the "Meta AM Ltd" bike only refers to "disc brakes" and for further information to the manufacturer's website. Advice via the website also includes information on which frame size fits which body size.

The Galaxus bike sales concept includes displaying a lower price than the non-binding retail price. This year, the "Meta AM Ltd" bike is available for CHF 2,400 instead of CHF 5,499. The higher price is marked as the manufacturer's recommended retail price. If you scroll further down, you will see the reason for the hefty discount: it is a 2012 model.

Are there any service partners?
During the ordering process, Galaxus offers the customer the option of receiving the bike ready to ride for an additional charge, depending on the delivery region. Galaxus has brought six independent service partners on board for this service. These include the companies "Veloservice Puma", "AOZ Züri rollt", "Wernli Velos", "Bike Sport Simplon", "Jobfactory Basel AG" and "Brühlgut Stiftung". Galaxus customers can collect their bikes ready to ride from these locations. Depending on the bike brand, Galaxus also cooperates directly with the bike suppliers and they provide the desired assembly service.

How does Galaxus handle warranties for bicycles?
According to the company, in the event of a warranty claim, customer service staff are available to provide advice by phone or e-mail and in person at one of the 9 Galaxus pick-up stores. The warranty is then processed directly via the suppliers. If the bike purchased from Galaxus needs to be repaired, the above delivery partners can also help.
