It's a trend from the USA: bike manufacturers are becoming active in specialist retail by buying up stores. Specialized and Trek are examples of this activity in North America. This US trend is now also reaching Switzerland: Specialized is becoming the owner of Ciclissimo's stores through Specialized Switzerland Retail GmbH, or rather its umbrella company Bike Concept SA. With ten stores in French-speaking Switzerland, a branch in Kleinbasel and expansion plans for the rest of German-speaking Switzerland and French-speaking Switzerland, Bike Concept SA is an important player in the Swiss specialist retail market.

Adrien Sabatier from Ciclissimo announced that he will remain at the helm of the company following the acquisition by Specialized Switzerland Retail GmbH and that the stores will continue to offer numerous bicycle brands as before.
