At the Downhill World Cup Final in Lake Placid, Australian Luke Meyer-Smith wins, just as he did last year. Andi Kolb (AUT) finishes second, and Lachlan Stevens McNab third. Eighth place was enough for Asa Vermette to secure his overall title. The American is now the youngest overall World Cup champion since Nicolas “E.T.” Vouilloz. In the women’s race, Lisa Bouladou claimed her first World Cup victory, ahead of Vali Höll and Tahnee Seagrave. Höll once again won the overall title.
