Hehbord-Trail
Description
The start of the Hehbord Trail is at Kreuzboden, the middle station of the Hohsass cable car. You can climb up to it under your own steam on the little road past the Triftalp, or you can comfortably sit in the gondola in Saas-Grund with your bike. The cable car transport is also the reason why there are so many hikers on this route. That's why the Hehboard Trail is only tackled after the cable car closes, but then you can enjoy the free ride and the wonderful evening light. The start of the route is difficult, alternating between riding and pushing. The real fun starts at the avalanche barriers. After a short counter-climb, an excellent high-level trail leads high above Saas-Fee towards the Almagelleralp. Good bikers can master the entire trail, but there are a few tricky sections. The descent to Almagelleralp and from there down to Saas-Almagell is pure riding fun. The second section in particular is even more difficult, but with good riding technique and sufficient suspension travel it is completely rideable - and depending on the type of rider, extremely fun. From Saas-Almagell, you finally roll back to Saas-Grund on forest roads.

Absolutely brilliant bike tour. Super beautiful high-altitude trail followed by a technical descent to Saas Almagell. Highly recommended for technically minded bikers.
An exciting trail for technicians. Certainly not flow, but quite crisp. You are constantly steering and balancing. Good trunk training. But I was able to ride almost everything with my 120mm trail bike.
No, no riding fun despite good control of the bike and plenty of suspension travel. Tricky here means not rideable in too many places. I do not recommend it
