"The Twostroke adds dimensions to the riding experience, as it enables an aggressive yet controlled riding style. This is the only way to increase the fun of biking with every challenge - and that's what it's all about," explains Conrad Glassey, Head of Product Management at BMC Switzerland.

The golden mean

The new Twostroke owes a lot to its big brother. The Fourstroke is probably the most established of the BMC cross-country bikes. The BMC engineers used this basis as the starting point for a development process that resulted in a bike that brilliantly masters the art of the golden mean; an innovative new school hardtail with unmistakable race roots.

New tube shapes harmonize perfectly with the premium carbon fibres and ensure outstanding stiffness values. This is reflected in explosive acceleration and precise handling. The latest addition to the BMC mountain bike product line is progressively light and therefore shines on the longest climbs as well as on the toughest marathon courses. But the Twostroke not only impresses with its low weight - it is also surprisingly robust. This means it can cope with the high demands of everyday XC riding and racing.

"With the Twostroke, we have developed a mountain bike that embodies balance to perfection. It is light, extremely stiff and at the same time extremely robust," says Glassey.

Confidence = riding fun

BMC has completely rethought the approach to XC geometry. The aim was to create a confidence-inspiring riding experience on any terrain. And it has more than succeeded: Thanks to its 67˚ steering angle and long front end, the Twostroke conquers technically demanding trails at top speed, and the fork with its 100 mm travel and 44 mm offset ensures perfect traction and precise steering behavior. 425 mm chainstays result in absolutely efficient power transfer with balanced agility for tricky passages. The seat angle of 75˚ puts the rider in a central position above the bike - essential for ideal weight distribution on steep sections.

Compliance all-rounder

The Tuned Compliance Concept (TCC) technology has proven itself for years on the most successful BMC road bike frames, as it intelligently complements the carbon layup. The improved traction and compliance - based on the latest rim and tire technology on the one hand and the innovative TCC on the other - result in a smooth, harmonious ride feel with absolutely low weight. Added to this are the latest carbon fiber materials as well as a seat post and a seat tube in the legendary D-shape, both perfectly matched to the seat stays. In a precisely adjusted interplay, these components ensure a precise degree of vertical compliance - and that takes the fear out of even the roughest terrain.

Fast. Aggressive. Noble

BMC stands for unique design innovations that are characterized by straight yet very harmonious lines. The message of the Twostroke is unmistakable: this bike combines maximum efficiency with precisely coordinated functionality. An elegant cross-country bike that crosses the racing genes of the Fourstroke with a fast-as-an-arrow design, creating the perfect blend of high performance, functionality and aesthetics. "The design language of the Twostroke conveys speed, aggression and maximum finesse," explains Christoph Bigler, Team Leader Industrial Design at BMC Switzerland. "This bike was developed to push boundaries."

Small details - big difference

The fully internal cable routing underlines the impressive design language and clean look of the Twostroke. At the same time, it enables uncomplicated assembly. Mountain bikes naturally have to be robust, and the Twostroke really can withstand any challenge thanks to its smartly integrated protectors. A pre-formed chainstay protector, an integrated chain deflector and resistant helicopter tape on the down tube reliably ensure durability. The integrated fork stop on the straight down tube not only protects the frame, but also improves its stiffness. In the style of a new-school cross-country bike, the Twostroke can be easily retrofitted with a retractable 27.2 seatpost with internal cable routing via a washer and is compatible with the new generation of wider XC tires.

Outstanding in every respect

The new Twostroke is an enormously progressive, compliant and confidence-inspiring hardtail that combines the perfect balance of stiffness, robustness and low weight. And: it achieves this balancing act at an absolutely competitive price.

"We have developed a bike that combines racing genes with new-school innovations - and is still accessible to everyone," says Stefan Christ, Head of R&D.
