WM: Nino Schurter holt sich Junioren-Silber
In the second of six laps, Schurter was still in fourth place, but then fought his way up to second place and secured it easily. However, the 17-year-old from the Grisons Oberland had no chance of winning the world title, as the Czech rider was too strong. Schurter: "Jaroslav will ride U23 next year, but I'll stay with the juniors. Now I'm over the moon about silver, next year I'm going for the title!"
Nino takes his second silver medal of these World Championships after the relay with this podium finish, making him the most successful rider for the time being. Swisspower team boss Andi Seeli is also over the moon: "Now we're going for it and saving our previously difficult season." For Seeli, Frischi won the marathon title, Emilie Siegenthaler came fourth in the juniors and Schurter now has two silver medals to his name.
