The situation of Bold within the Scott Group has caused quite a stir these days. Scott has now announced that it will continue to operate the Bold brand as part of a stabilization programme.

A legend of the mountain bike world shakes things up: Bold owner Scott is pulling the plug on the legendary Swiss brand. All investments and new developments relating to Bold Cycles are to be discontinued and the high stock levels sold at a discount of up to 40 percent.

Vincenz Droux initially housed the dampers in the frame with his own brand Bold. His company then rolled under the Scott umbrella. And there, the shocks are now invisible on a large number of mountain bikes. But now Droux is leaving the Scott company.

With the second generation of the Unplugged enduro bike, Bold is once again making a statement, both visually and technically. We were allowed to chase the brand new enduro bike over a wide variety of trails in advance. This much up front, the Biel-based company didn't promise too much with their versatile bike.

After the relaunch of the Linkin, the Unplugged also comes in a similar look and is also suspended on the new suspension platform. The suspension strut and its linkage are integrated into the frame of the Unplugged, just like the Bold. The enduro bike comes with 170 millimetres of suspension travel at the front and 160 millimetres at the rear, as a mullet or twentyniner depending on size, and will be available in 40 international markets from spring 2023.

Bold revolutionized the mountain bike world in 2015 with the integrated suspension system. Now the brand is going one better with the new Linkin. Suspension is now provided by a VPP-like development and the shock is now positioned horizontally in the down tube.

Who wouldn't want to personalize their new bike? Bold now offers a custom paint service for the "Linkin Trail" model. From a choice of three different variants, all common RAL colors can be realized and adapted to the paintwork after personal consultation.

On March 28, Bold in Biel invites you to go on tours on the home trails in the nearby Jura. Two guided tours will start from the Bold headquarters at 1pm. The first is a technically challenging enduro tour supported by the Magglingen cable car. The second variant is a panoramic tour without lift support and is less technically demanding, although a good level of fitness is an advantage.

Founded in 1958, multisport brand Scott Sports today announces a strategic collaboration with Bold Cycles. The Swiss-based company was founded in 2015 by Vincenz Droux in Biel, close to Scott's headquarters. Bold Cycles has quickly gained a reputation as a radical innovator in the cycling industry.

In spring 2018, Bold Cycles presented its Enduro rocket Unplugged. The first models have been available since the end of November. Just a few months later, the Biel-based company is already launching the next bike - the mini version of the Unplugged - the Volume 2. Ride has already had the opportunity to test the bike.

The thoroughbred Enduro Unplugged has already caused jaws to drop - be it because of the unique design language with integrated shock absorber or at the latest on the descent, where the Bolide is in top form. With the Unplugged 2, a bike is now rolling off the Biel production line that is designed for maximum versatility.

Normally, representatives of the bike media get to see the latest bikes and products first. Not so with Bold: on March 29 and 30, 2019, the Biel-based high-end brand will present its latest bike directly to the public. The launch party will take place at the company headquarters in Biel, where enduro fans can pre-register exclusively for the "Bold Enduro Helveti'Cup".

In 2015, Bold Cycles launched their first model, the "Linkin Trail". One year later, they introduced the "LT - Long Travel". Both bikes have won numerous tests and design awards. Now comes the third model, the "Unplugged". We have tested whether the bike can keep up with its predecessors.

With the "Unplugged", the makers of Bold have landed a big hit. Now the Biel-based company is good for another surprise: the "Unplugged" is now available in a fresh new look. The third colour option for the enduro flagship is black-silver-orange, which harmonizes perfectly with the newly configurable Fox Factory 36 Grip 2 fork with 170 millimetre stroke.

The six-race Swiss enduro racing series "Enduro Helveti'Cup" will be held for the fifth time in 2019. The organizers of the Enduro Helveti'Cup and BOLD Cycles are pleased to announce their close cooperation for the next three seasons. With this commitment, BOLD Cycles wants to make a targeted contribution to the development of enduro racing.

With the Unplugged Enduro, Bold has pulled off a tremendous feat: Intelligent system integration for the shock and dropper post, geometry adjustment on the rear triangle and fork and beautiful details to keep the chain in check are just a few keywords. The Bieler Bolide also impressed at the First Ride.

The Eurobike Award jury likes products from Switzerland: Bold wins an award for innovation and system integration on the new Unplugged Enduro. At DT Swiss, the travel-dependent damping and the combination of air and steel springs won laurels. And Benno Bikes, a lifestyle bike expert with Swiss roots, is honored.

Bold Cycles is moving from its previous location in Lengnau to Biel and opening the doors to its new headquarters with an opening event from July 20 to 22, 2018. The new company premises encompass all areas of Bold such as development, manufacturing, marketing and sales. The centerpiece is the new showroom, which transports the online configurator into the real world.

With the "Unplugged" model, Bold is launching a bike for the rough stuff. It comes with up to 165 millimetres of suspension travel and a sophisticated system for adjusting the chainstay length, bottom bracket height and steering angle. At the same time, the bike allows for an almost free choice of wheel size and shock. Vincenz Droux answers how this works and other questions about this bike in an interview.

A recent trip to the Biel Trail revealed some news. Despite a fair amount of dirt on one of the bikes in the funicular up to Magglingen, a Bold with the word "Prototype" on it could be made out. It seems that something new is indeed in the works, even if its friendly owner kept a low profile.

Sometimes the hairpin bend works, sometimes you take the daredevil drop, but sometimes not, depending on your form on the day: on the home track, you find out exactly how you're feeling - and how good the bike you're on is. Bold takes advantage of this and goes on tour with interested parties on the home track.

The sister company and owner of the naming rights of Bold Cycles AG from Lengnau is taking legal action in Germany against Derby Cycles Holding GmbH. The reason for this is the use of the name Bold for some models of the Focus brand, a bicycle brand managed under Derby Cycles.

Bold Cycles recently translated its online configurator into reality in Lengnau. The new showroom was opened in the company building, which used to be a watch factory, to show visitors all the possibilities in real life that the online configurator has long offered them.
