Dainese tests protector technology with airbags

Dainese is already using it on motorcycles: In the event of a fall, protectors inflate and offer additional protection in the event of an accident. The Italians are now adapting this technology for mountain bikes.

During the training runs at the UCI downhill race in Les Gets, the riders of the Canyon CLLCTV team ride with it: a protector vest with an integrated airbag. The electronic control unit with acceleration sensors, gyroscopes and GPS in conjunction with a sophisticated algorithm ensures that the system automatically recognizes the dynamics of a fall and activates the shield, the patented dAirbag, if necessary, which protects the athlete from falls.
