More riding fun in total
Transalpes is presenting three new models for this season - the Transalpes Plus mountain bikes. The bike manufacturer describes the advantages of the tires in 2.8 or 3 inch format compared to conventional tire widths as follows: 1. more riding comfort, 2. more traction, 3. more stiffness, 4. more safety.
Plus and 29er: in one bike
According to Stefan Gruber, mastermind at Transalpes, this results in more riding fun on any terrain. All Transalpes Plus bikes can be ridden with wide 27.5-inch wheels as well as large 29-inch wheels - and rely on the modern Boost dimension for the installation width of the hubs.
Which rim widths and which air pressure makes sense?
Stefan Gruber says about the addition to the portfolio: "Our new Transalpes Plus bikes are ridden with 2.8 to 3.0 inch wide tires. These are mounted on 40 mm wide rims. Tubeless, of course. This maximizes the air volume in the tire. Plus bikes can be ridden with very low air pressure of 0.9 to 1.2 bar. In fact, Plus wheels with 27.5" rims and 3" tires have the same diameter and the same circumference as 29" wheels. This gives the rider the same advantages as with a 29er bike. You roll over obstacles more easily, the bike is smoother in rough sections and is easier to control. The result is unsurpassed riding comfort."
Transalpe's Plus range is based on three models: With a hardtail, there is something for purists, while the AM and BM Plus models cater to all-mountain and enduro riders with the appropriate suspension travel.
