With the Decoy, YT Industries wanted to prove that an e-mountain bike can be "a gravity-oriented beast" that looks good, feels good and can deliver on the trails both uphill and downhill. With the new year, YT is embarking on a new mission to conquer even more trails and mountains with two new Decoy models. Both the Pro 29 and Base 29 models are categorized as all-mountain bikes. Both have been given adapted geometry and kinematics to ensure efficient climbing performance on longer rides, while 150 millimetres of travel should still provide a kick on technical downhill sections.
In comparison to the Enduro with the 29-27.5-mullet set-up, the Decoy 29 has been developed for all-mountain use. Both the head and seat angles are steeper, which shifts the rider's center of gravity forward, and longer chainstays also allow more pressure to be exerted on the front wheel on steep and technical climbs. The 29er wheels roll over any obstacle and ensure a smooth ride even at high speeds. The geometry can be changed with the flip chip, which allows the steering and seat angle to be adjusted to raise or lower the bottom bracket height by 7 millimetres. The necessary power is provided by the Shimano E8000 motor and a powerful 540 Wh battery.
