In the night of Wednesday, March 26, between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m., unknown persons struck and broke into BMC. The stolen goods include high-quality bicycles and accessories worth several 100,000 francs.

At the same time, other companies in Grenchen were also broken into: A green VW T5 bus was stolen from the "Rieger P. AG" tool factory. This was possibly used to transport bicycles. Unknown perpetrators gained access to the company "Pro Work AG". There they stole a safe with cash and keys, as well as a Renault Traffic. The vehicle was probably used to transport the safe away.

According to Thalia Schweizer, media spokesperson for the Solothurn cantonal police, there are still no indications as to who the perpetrators are and it is currently unclear whether there is a connection with the burglary on October 2, 2013.

As BMC announced in a press release, the security measures have been significantly tightened since the actual break-in, but the perpetrators still managed to steal the bikes and accessories from the assembly hall and warehouse.

Persons who have noticed anything suspicious or can provide information on the whereabouts of the stolen bikes or vehicles are asked to contact the Solothurn cantonal police in Grenchen on 032 654 39 69.
