The mountain bike autumn is still shining in all its colors, and yet it is already possible to look ahead to 2023. The legendary Ride wall calendar is now available for next year. "Ride" has once again compiled 13 of its best trail images into a large-format wall calendar.

Switzerland is considered a haven of bliss when it comes to single trails. No other country takes such a progressive and pragmatic approach to mountain bikers. However, this was not always the case, as can be seen in a TV report from February 2001. The catalyst was the launch of the Singletrail Map and the uproar caused by the authorities over the brazen publication of supposedly illegal mountain bike routes.

Happy birthday! Ride celebrates its twentieth birthday in 2022. This is the ideal opportunity to look back on the fascinating development of mountain biking - from a freak show to a popular sport - with a focus issue.

The two-meter regulation hangs over the Black Forest like a sword of Damocles. The region does not appear to be a good place for mountain bikers. The reality is different: There is a good understanding on all sides, no trace of density stress. This unrealistic regulation should finally be abolished, says Thomas Giger in his blog post.

For the expansion of the editorial team, Ride needs further reinforcement. We are looking for an editor with a strong connection to mountain bike racing. It is also possible to acquire the craft of journalism within the position through practical experience and further training courses. The July issue of Ride brings a whole load of high alpine mountain bike tours. These include, for example, the Saflisch Pass from Fiesch to Brig. Also included is the Haute Route Graubünden, perhaps one of the most challenging, but also one of the most impressive mountain tours in Switzerland. And finally, Ride was out and about in the South Tyrolean Dolomites, where it produced an impressive report from the Senes region.

In the June issue of Ride, the big emotions are unpacked. First and foremost in the extensive route descriptions. On the agenda are the unknown Fuorcla Champatsch in Scuol, the legendary Eisjöchl in South Tyrol and the wild Arvigrat in Central Switzerland. In this issue, Ride has also invented a new sport - the Valaisan Triathlon. Ski, bike and surf in just one day.

The world is so wonderful because it has so many facets. This also applies to the mountain bike world and even more so to the latest issue of Ride. It includes tour reports that couldn't be more different. The April issue of Ride provides the soundtrack for the 2022 season, with the Col du Jorat near Martigny, Lago Saoseo in Val Poschiavo and the super trails of Freiburg im Breisgau on the playlist. The exotic rhythm is provided by the extraordinary bike trip to the national parks of South Africa. And the profound lyrics are provided by the reports on trail activists in the cities and on how the traditional Alpine clubs deal with the no longer so new sport of mountain biking. All in all, the April issue of Ride sets the tone for the 2022 season.

Ride is no longer a magazine, but a trail service provider with its tour database and the Singletrail Map web map. And the database has grown significantly again in 2021: 258 new tours have been researched and the route network of the Singletrail Map has grown by a further 13,000 kilometers. Ride has cracked a historic mark: the number of routes in the tour database has risen to 1000 entries today. This is the reason for a major update to the Singletrail Map web map. This includes the Niwen in Valais with a view over to the cathedral, the Bimbam Trail on the Stilfserjoch in the face of the Ortler and the Seblengrat opposite the Tödi.

On the occasion of the "European Publishing Congress" taking place today, the mountain bike magazine Ride has been honored with the "European Publishing Award" in the Special Interest category, making it one of the best trade magazines in Europe. The decisive factor for the award is the progressive business model. Ride is regarded as a showcase for how to successfully position and develop a magazine in the shaken media world.

As many alpine single trails are finally cleared of snow, the June issue of Ride provides the appropriate routes. For example, the Livigno round tour in the Upper Engadine. Including the Chaschauna Pass with the brand new single trail on the Swiss side. Or the Brienzer Rothorn, actually a classic excursion mountain, but in reality one of the most rewarding mountain bike destinations in the Bernese Oberland. And finally, Ride traveled to the Blenio Valley in Ticino and discovered a completely unknown single trail idyll.

In the merry month of May, mountain bikers' hearts beat faster again after the winter break. The second Ride issue of the 2021 season is now available. It includes a tour report on the Federispitz, a surprising singletrail highlight within sight of the city of Zurich. Or the tour to Crap Furo, the geographical center of Graubünden. They are complemented by the Rosetta Trail, one of the most impressive mountain bike routes in the Dolomites.

The Singletrail Map takes the next big development step and uses a completely newly developed base map that comes impressively close to the legendary Swisstopo national maps. They are more accurate, more contrasty and provide a completely new map image. From now on, the official Swisstopo maps can also be used as a base map.

Ride kicks off the 2021 season this week with a great trail movie in the March issue. For example, the tour to Col Ferret in Valais. Nowhere is closer to Mont Blanc. Or the route over the Kisten Pass to Lake Limmeren with a backdrop that is second to none. The Motto d'Arbino is also included. The descent to Bellinzona rides along one of the best trails in Ticino. For the April issue, Ride has unpacked the big emotions: with the Balcon de Ferret in the Aosta Valley, the Fürhörnli in Chur and the Schnebelhorn in the Zurich Oberland, three particularly appealing tours make it onto the paper. What's more, Ride has been to the Faroe Islands and has brought home a very special adventure story from there. And one thing remains unchanged: the printed edition of Ride is guaranteed virus-free!

The 2020 single trail season has kicked off - with the March issue of Ride, which is available at newsstands from today. The mountain bike magazine "Ride" has been named the best Swiss trade magazine of 2019 by the Swiss Media Association. Years of quality orientation, exceptional customer focus and above-average sales and access figures were the deciding factors for the "Q-Award".

The year was 2004, "Ride" was still called "Move" back then, but suspension specialist Fox was already a big name. But 15 years ago, the Americans didn't have a good grasp of the German language and had their manual machine-translated without proofreading - which led to one of the most beautiful stylistic flourishes in bike history. A web map with the entire Singletrail Map database is now available on Ride.ch. The Ride editorial team is giving its subscribers a special gift under the Christmas tree and at the same time heralding a new era in the planning of mountain bike tours.

The Ride tour database is just over a year old and has since become a central element of the website. Over 600 singletrail tours in Switzerland and neighboring countries are recorded. The appropriate destinations have now been added to all routes so that the data can be displayed more individually.

Ride is expanding its range of services for subscribers. From now on, they can obtain the digital tablet version of each issue free of charge in addition to the printed edition - for both iPads and Android devices.
