Ride looks back on a successful 2015 with its website. The number of hits doubled within a year. Ride is also successful on social media, where it outperformed the other mountain bike magazines in Switzerland by a factor of almost four.

Everyone is still crying out for powder snow, and fat bikes have come to the fore among mountain bikers. But the single trail season has already started at Ride. The first issue is going to print these days - the right time to buy a subscription.

The second 2014 issue of Ride will be published on April 17. Since the turn of the year, the lifestyle mountain bike magazine has had a new look. Responsible for the new look is Brigitte Nocker, the designer who makes every issue of Ride something special. In an interview with Ride, Brigitte Nocker explains what she particularly likes about working at Ride.

For Ride readers, 2014 will be a good year: Ride magazine is published five times a year.

Mountain bikers are on everyone's lips and summer tourism has been gaining in importance for years. However, experts in mountain bike tourism still lack a common platform for exchanging experiences and knowledge. This is why Ride is launching the "Ride Mountain Bike Congress Chur" on September 19 and 20, 2013.

In 2012, Ride.ch made a leap forward. With 1.75 million views, the number of pages viewed was 12 percent higher than in the previous year. The ride makers were also able to increase the number of visitors. Over 50'000 visitors per month visited the Swiss mountain biking news site.

The Swiss mountain bike magazine Ride is strengthening its editorial team and will be relying on former top athlete Balz Weber in future. The U23 world champion from 2003 is working as news editor with immediate effect and brings a lot of insider knowledge from racing and technical expertise with him.

The mountain bike magazine Ride is getting a new editor-in-chief for the 2013 season. Claude Balsiger is taking over the editorial leadership, replacing Pascal Hänggi, who is moving into the bike industry. Balsiger is no stranger to the mountain bike scene. In 2011, he improved the world altitude record and reached an altitude of 6175 meters above sea level while riding in the Himalayas.

The German media trade journal Meedia lists the Swiss mountain bike magazine Ride as one of the 15 titles with great future potential. Printed magazines will be a status symbol in the future, and Ride is positioned precisely in this segment. They predict a rosy future for the magazine.

Every year, the "Schweizer Medien" association honors the highest quality specialist magazines. This year, the mountain bike magazine Ride also made it into the tight circle of nominees.

Ride has brought a lot of dynamism to the Swiss bicycle industry since 2009 with its specialist dealer magazine "Ride Business". Successful models find imitators, and so a largely identical rival product was launched a year ago. It is an undisputed fact that there is no room in the Swiss market for two identical specialist dealer magazines. "Ride Business" is taking advantage of this situation to reinvent itself in 2012 with a forward-looking strategy. "Ride Business" is becoming more dynamic, more digital and faster.

Ride has also completely redesigned its website with this issue. A new addition is a tour database, which contains the editorial team's collective knowledge of tours. It contains 600 single trail tours in Switzerland and neighboring countries. Ride subscribers have free access to the complete database, including all GPS data. Non-subscribers can access the content with a paid login for 20 francs per year.

The bicycle industry is showing little sign of being affected by the economic crisis. Now Ride is also reporting that it has had the most successful year in its history. While reader numbers are constantly rising, advertising revenue across all products has increased by 50 percent.

Ride.ch once again reports record visits for the month of May. The servers counted 116'722 visits last month. This represents an increase of over 68 percent compared to the previous year. At the same time, Ride.ch reached half a million hits at the end of May when counted since the beginning of the year.

Ride.ch reports a new access record in March. For the first time in the history of the website, over 100'000 visitors were registered in one month. Compared to the previous year, this represents almost a doubling.

Ride is taking a new approach with its subscriptions and launching a patron subscription. For 495 francs, you can receive the magazines Ride and Ride Business for life.

Ride launched a completely revamped version of its website on January 1. The access figures for the month of January have now been evaluated: Ride.ch reached record figures in January. 610'000 pages were accessed, with a total of 92'500 visitors to the website.

Ride reports the access figures for its website for 2009. With over five million pages viewed and 830'000 visitors, it is and remains the most visited and most important cycling news site in Switzerland.

With the relaunch of the Ride website, the email newsletter is also being reorganized. All existing subscribers must now register to continue to receive all the news from Ride.ch in their mailbox every Monday morning free of charge.

Ride is starting the new year with a completely revamped website. In addition to a much simpler and clearer user interface, the Ride makers have integrated new functions such as commenting on news articles or displaying Twitter messages from the racers.

Electric bikes are the big hit in the bicycle industry, and many manufacturers are focusing on them and looking to the future. While the additional motor has so far only been used on everyday and touring bikes, mountain bikes with an electric drive will be launched on the market for the first time in the 2010 season. The Swiss mountain bike magazine "Ride" is the first specialist magazine to address this trend and has subjected the first models and prototypes to intensive testing. The September issue, which has just been published, provides an overview of the new mountain bikes and shows where the bikes already make sense today and where there is still a need for development.

The online version of the Swiss mountain bike magazine Ride reached over 830'000 visitors in 2008, an increase of 15% on the previous year. Together they viewed over 6.2 million pages, which represents an increase of 30%. News was again by far the strongest area, with over one million reports read. Job offers have definitely established themselves, with up to 15'000 hits per month. The pictures are also still going strong: Over 350'000 times a picture was viewed enlarged on ride.ch. These figures underline the status of ride.ch as Switzerland's most important information platform for the sport of mountain biking.

It has long been known that press freedom in China is anything but at its best. In the run-up to the Olympic Games, there were heated discussions about censorship on the Internet because international journalists were not granted free Internet access during the Games. Now it is known: ride.ch is also on the list of blocked websites. This means that the cyclists in Beijing will be denied news reports from home.

With the May issue, the German specialist magazine MountainBIKE is publishing its own Swiss edition for the first time. The issues differ from the regular editions in that they each have their own title and eight-page special sections with specific topics from Switzerland.

Ride has compiled the access statistics for its website for 2007: The Swiss mountain bike magazine reached 720'000 visitors with its website last year, who viewed a total of 4.7 million pages. Clearly the most important area with 650'000 hits is the news reports. The viewing of pictures has developed in an interesting way: 267'000 times a picture was viewed in enlarged form. With 80'000 hits, the newly introduced job offers also achieved a very good value.

With immediate effect, Swiss Sports Publishing GmbH, the publisher of the mountain bike magazine Ride and the Swiss Singletrail Maps, will be based in Davos. On August 1, the company moved its headquarters to the Grisons mountains after six years in Biel and will in future produce the magazine and mountain bike maps in new offices on Davos' Talstrasse. At the same time, the company has entered into a partnership with MDS-Media AG. The company, based in Kriens, Lucerne, has taken over the entire mail order business, article management and address management of Swiss Sports Publishing GmbH.

There will be a change of editor-in-chief at mountain bike magazine Ride this summer. Thomas Knecht, who has been in charge of the magazine's content for over two years, is leaving the two-wheeler industry and moving to the major bank UBS on June 1. The successor for the position of Editor-in-Chief of Ride has not yet been decided; the position will be filled in the fall of 2007. Publishing director and Ride editor Thomas Giger will manage the magazine on an interim basis and look for a successor.

Bene Luginbühl is going back to his bike roots. The media professional has just confirmed that he has bought the Move and TranZbag brands he founded from the previous owner Fischer Management AG. However, Luginbühl does not yet want to reveal anything about his plans for the two brands.

Multiple Swiss junior champion and European champion Emilie Siegenthaler is now on the payroll of Swiss Sports Publishing, the publisher of Ride Magazine and the Swiss Singletrail Map. In a flexible part-time employment relationship, the active top athlete will be entrusted with tasks relating to the online stores operated by the company.

The Ride website continues to report a strong increase in traffic: In May, the website was accessed by 45'000 people, and individual pages were viewed almost 200'000 times. Move is thus strengthening its position as the most visited cycling website in Switzerland.

The Swiss mountain bike magazine "Move" is changing its name with the upcoming March issue and will now be called "Ride". In terms of content and design, the tried-and-tested concept will be retained, while the editorial team and publisher will also remain unchanged. The name change is due to a clearer positioning as a mountain bike magazine and due to different takeover ideas with the previous brand owner.

DRS 3 is returning to its roots and bringing one of the MOVE founders back on board in Bendicht Luginbühl. As the new program director of the stations DRS 3 and Virus, Luginbühl is to ensure greater journalistic quality and a higher standard of music programming from April 2003. Although this sounds like a U-turn at Radio DRS, those responsible deny a strategic U-turn ? and point out that the mainstream program of DRS 3 is very much a success with the audience.

Now the specialist magazine "Ride" is going for superlatives: In a focus issue on Central Switzerland, the magazine's editors describe three of the best tours between the Susten Pass and Pilatus and have discovered the longest single trail in Switzerland. The issue is all about the southern canton of Ticino and features the "Strada Alta", the "Motto d'Arbino" and the "Monte Generoso", three classic bike tours in the region with interesting tour reports, first-class pictures and lots of information. There is also plenty of news and interesting facts about the sport of biking.

This special edition is available at newsstands from today and features 100 pages of facts and figures on the upcoming mountain bike summer. In addition to details on over 200 events and competitions, Ride also includes many background articles on bike racing, the best pictures from the past season and the most important new products from the two-wheeler industry.

The July issue of Ride is now available from newsagents or directly from the Ride online store. The focus of issue 03/2007 is on the Emmental and Entlebuch. The issue shows the best bike routes in the Napf region, in Sörenberg and in the lower Emmental, as always richly illustrated with lots of background information. The magazine also contains lots of articles and news about Swiss biking as well as all the important new products.
