Crans-Montana Trails
Description
The tour starts at Montana Gare, the terminus of the Sierre - Crans-Montana cogwheel railroad. Following the main road for a short distance, the road branches off to the left towards Tsaumiau. Here the road climbs leisurely for a while until you turn onto the Bisse de Tsittoret below Le Relais de Colombire and reach the Cave du Sex. On busy days, the bisse can also be bypassed. Now it's soon a steep and technical descent, over the stream and on to Cordona. It goes up again. A good 300 vertical meters later, pure singletrail fun awaits until you reach the hamlet of Taschonieren. Here you turn onto the Bisse de Varen, later onto the Bisse Neuf, which leads to Venthône. This is followed by a long climb to Lens, from where the last few meters in altitude to the Statue du Christ-Roi are covered on single trails. It's worth recharging your batteries here, as the following descent is excellent but technically demanding. It ends just above St-Léonard.
From here, if you want to visit the Alaïa Bay surf park in Sion, you first roll on the left bank of the river to Vissigen, where you switch to the right bank of the Rhone and roll to Les Îles. If you don't want to go to Alaïa Bay to surf or eat, take the train and cogwheel train back to Sierre and Crans-Montana from St-Léonard.

Shortly before the Cave du Sex there is still some snow (driving ban mentioned above). On the first descent after 1690 and before 1545, the path slipped. We had to turn back. An alternative descent via hiking trails can be easily found and is quite feasible
The trail along the Bisse de Tsittoret between P. 1838 and Cave du Sex 1873 is completely closed to bikes. Bypass at the top.
