Christ Roi Statue

Above Sion is the Christ Roi statue, which can be seen from afar. It is the starting point for an excellent singletrail descent.

Description

From the top station of the funicular in Crans-Montana, ride into the village center and climb up to Plans Mayens on the right by the lake. A short trail leads down to the Pas de l'Ours, where the first part of the descent begins. An excellent singletrail winds its way downhill, later flattening out towards the valley and turning into a forest path just before Les Vernasses. The route follows the hill to Lens and climbs up to the Christ Roi statue at the southern end of the village. The second part of the descent begins just below the statue and follows the ridge downhill to the Bisse de Sillonin. This rides to Chelin, where you follow the signposted hiking trail to the banks of the Rhône. Follow the Rhône upstream on the cycle path back to Sierre.

Alternatives: From Chelin back to Crans-Montana along the mountain road and the Grande Bisse de Lens.

Super tour. Can be combined with the Bisse de Claveau to Sion!

Very cool tour..., not recommended in wet conditions as many rooty spots and partly exposed.
Practically no hikers despite the weekend...
Clear recommendation for technically advanced riders...

Scenically beautiful but technically very demanding... it has some very steep sections and lots of tight bends... not for beginners!

Super fun tour: the first part in the forest is not to be underestimated in wet conditions due to roots and tight bends, but it is very beautiful. After the Satue, things really get going again, beautiful scenery and a great trail with short technical passages.
Obsi effort and nitzi return top! Another plus: almost no hikers despite the high season in Crans.

Very cool tour with countless hairpin bends. Most of them are rideable, but some are slightly blocked or can only be mastered by turning.
