Leuker Trail-Tour
Description
From Leuk railroad station, you initially follow the signposted mountain bike route along the Rhône to Obergetwing. You now quickly gain altitude on a small road, pass the villages of Erschmatt and Brenschen and finally reach Bachalp after 1300 meters in altitude. But now the ascent really starts to take its toll. You switch to a singletrail, which you ride all the way up if you still have plenty of strength, with a short section on an alpine road in between before turning onto the Torrent trail. The familiar descent is so flowy that the trail is also easy to ride uphill. At a hilltop, however, you now keep left instead of heading towards the cattle hut, later reaching the Torrentalp on this trail and riding over bottles down to the tunnel on the road to Leukerbad. The tunnel passage is part of the tour, and immediately afterwards you reach Leukerbad on a singletrail above the road. The return journey to Leuk is next. To do this, follow the gravel road to Birchen and Larschi and finally push your bike a little through a rocky passage. The path here is not dangerous, but too steep to ride. After the rocky passage, the route continues through the forest to an alpine hut, where the fantastic descent to Varen begins. A super-flowing path leads to Taschunieru and forms the excellent final section of this singletrail tour. Return to Leuk from Varen on the main road, and from Leuk down to the train station on side roads (signposted as a mountain bike route).

Why shouldn't the tour be suitable for e-bikes?
Because of the rocky passage at Chällerflue, the bike has to be pushed here. But it works with a push aid. We have changed the rating to "limited suitability". Section of the trail looks like this (picture from Schweiz Mobil):
