Colle delle Traversette – Monte Meidassa
Description
The starting point of the tour is the small village of Crissolo in the Valle Po. Initially, the route follows a relaxed tarmac road along the Torrente Po to Plan della Regina, deeper and deeper into the valley towards France. An impressive road with an even more breathtaking backdrop appears before you. Asphalt comes to an end at Plan del Re. The route continues on a Vallo Alpino path, which is only partly pedalable. Most of the time the bike is pushed or carried here. Passing Passo Luisas, the route leads to Pian Mait and then up to the casemates from the Vallo Alpino era. From here, it is only a few meters before you pass through the Il Buco di Viso tunnel, which is several hundred years old, into France. As if from a movie cut, you enter another country and have a magnificent view to the west.
You can also take this tunnel back, or cross over the Colle delle Traversette. Here you push or carry your bike up over the ridge, where the singletrail descent begins. On difficulty level S3, the ascent variant leads down to just below the Passo Luisas. With a view of the Monviso, you shouldn't get too distracted. There are key sections to be mastered and the route is very demanding in places. Below the Passo Luisas, the route then takes a mule track, which is somewhat more pleasant and easier. Past the Pian del Re and on this difficulty down to the Pian della Regina. Then it's pure flow on a singletrail with a difficulty of S0 to S1 with a short counter-climb back to Crissolo.
Tip: If you opt for Monte Meidassa at the barracks, you can also tackle this. The difficulty is S3 to S4.
