Gleck (Cima Collecchio)
Description
Start at the Larcher Säge sawmill near St. Gertraud in the rear Ulten Valley. Initially on asphalt, later on gravel, the trail climbs steadily uphill towards Rabbi Joch. As the altitude increases, the terrain becomes rougher and the ground more rugged - the path turns into a trail on which you sometimes only make progress by pushing. At the Rabbi Joch, the view opens up into the neighboring Val di Rabbi. This is followed by a first, flowing intermediate downhill at S2 level towards Rifugio Stella Alpina al Lago Corvo - the perfect place to stop for refreshments with warm hospitality.
After the hut, the carrying and pushing part begins up to Cima Collecchio (2957 meters above sea level), which runs along a chain of crystal-clear mountain lakes - including Haselgruber See / Lago Corvo. The view from the summit is spectacular: from the Stelvio National Park over the Ortler group to the southern Zillertal Alps.
The descent is quite something. The upper section offers a mix of S3-S4 passages that demand riding technique and line, but also offer flowing trail sections. As the altitude decreases, the trail becomes more homogeneous and easier to ride (S2-S3) until you finally reach the Weißbrunnsee lake. South of the lake, there is one last beautiful trail section (S2) back to the starting point at Larcher Säge.
