Kleinobir
Description
The all-mountain tour starts at the Freibach reservoir. The route first takes you past Zell-Homölisch/Sele-Homeliše on a gravel path that winds steadily uphill towards the summit of Kleinobir. The end of the rideable section is reached at an altitude of around 1250 m above sea level. From here, the bike is carried on the back to the Jagoutzsattel or pushed in sections. It is clear from the ascent that the descent will be easy to ride and relatively smooth.
You continue to climb through larch forests until you finally reach the summit of Kleinobir from the saddle at just under 2000 meters above sea level. The view from the summit, especially to the north towards the Klagenfurt basin and to the west and south, is particularly impressive in autumn.
The descent from the summit directly to the Freibach reservoir can be classified as difficulty level S2 throughout. It is neither too demanding nor too easy and rides steadily downhill. The ground is homogeneous and there are no significant obstacles. At the end of the trail, you reach the valley floor, a few meters above the starting point at the Freibach reservoir.
Note: The route is located on Austrian territory and leads over routes that are not approved for mountain bikers. Riding this route on a mountain bike is the responsibility of each individual, in full awareness of the legal situation.
