Lake Lonene

Lake Lonene (Norrona Canvas Hotel)

The loop to Lake Lonene is one of the attractive trail loops starting at the legendary Canvas Hotel. It begins with one of the crisper descents in the region and shines with the impressive rocky passage and flowing trail sections at Lake Lonene.

Description

The starting point of the two-hour tour is the Canvas Hotel in Telemark, Norway. You climb up a little to the nearby rock slabs and then head into the first downhill trail - a great path, steep and crisp in places, then smoother again and (as usual in the region) with a few short climbs. In this way, you cruise through "no man's land", pass a gravel road and cross a wide stream that flows over large, red slabs of rock. A little later, you reach a large, smooth slab of rock that serves as a climb. A great spectacle! This is rounded off by a super-flowing descent that rides back to the gravel road. Now you continue to a second gravel road on flat rocky sections. This gravel road is the feeder route to the hotel. Follow it for a few meters and then turn right towards the hotel. The final section rides either over trails again or a little further down via the feeder road to the lake, where the hotel is located.
