The first detour on the route leads from Bad Liebenzell to the large Nordschwarzwald clinic, 300 meters above the valley floor. The ascent is on a gravel road and leads directly to the start of the trail descent to Hirsau on the valley floor. The trail is fast and flowy to ride, its difficulty is in the S1 range. In Hirsau, you change sides of the valley and pedal up to Ottenbronn. This is followed by a longer transfer section to Monakam, which always includes some nice trail sections. These are also in the S1 area.

In Monakam, the long descent through the Monbachtal valley begins, including a short, but tough climb after a bridge. The rest of the descent is in the flowing S1 area.
