Parc del Garraf
Description
The starting point of the tour is the coastal town of Sitges south of Barcelona, which can be easily reached from the city center by regional train (R2 to Sant Vincenç de Calders). Here you initially roll along the sea in the direction of Barcelona, but then after four kilometers you turn left onto a steep asphalt road up to the Turo de la Trinitat with the transmitter antenna. The ascent is a foretaste of what is to come in terms of steepness and sea views. From the transmitting antenna, a singletrail leads steeply but easily rideable down to the huge Vallcarca concrete plant. The second ascent begins, this time 260 meters in altitude have to be mastered up to the El Collet hill. This transition is the starting point of the second singletrail descent, this time down to the small coastal town of Garraf. Three kilometers of asphalt road are on the agenda to complete the warm-up phase. Because at Port Ginesta, it's time to get down to business!
The tarmac climb up to the Parc de Garraf is very steep, calves and lungs are literally crying out for a lighter sprocket. No use, you have to get through it. However, the steep ascent is sweetened by a fantastic panorama of the Mediterranean. In this way, you climb up level after level before descending further and further into the barren hinterland. To do this, you always follow the mountain road and even lose a few of the hard-earned meters of altitude on it - which is the only sensible option for the return journey.
At Collada de Vallgrassa, you leave the little road and head downhill along the Fondo de les Llenties on a mix of trails and gravel roads. Finally, you reach a gravel road and climb on this, and finally on a trail, to the Serra del Parany ridge. The long descent begins until you return to civilization on the outskirts of Sant Pere de Ribes. You now roll back to Sitges on a mix of trails and gravel paths.
Conclusion: A beautiful tour, albeit not with absolute singletrail highlights, but with a great scenic contrast and generally far away from other people.
Tip: If you want to shorten the first part, start the tour from Platja de Castelldefels station and roll along the sea to the start of the steep ascent.

The Parc del Garraf is very scenic and very lonely. I only did part of this tour, namely from Turó de Gafatans down to Sant Pere de Ribes. This section was great. I had previously done the long trail over the Serrat Blanc. Very overgrown and a constant up and down. But really beautiful. The following gorge (winding black trail) was again impressive, but endlessly long and flat. The riverbed was not always easy to navigate. All in all, a real adventure in total solitude.
