Techendorfer Alm – Stoisa-Trail
Description
The start is in Techendorf. From here, the route initially heads towards the Hinterm Brunn snack station on gravel with a medium gradient. The route then rides steadily uphill over hilly terrain in classic cross-country style with short ups and downs along the northern shore of Lake Weissensee to the Techendorfer Alm. The uphill is very homogeneous overall, only the repeated ups and downs cost additional meters in altitude.
At the Techendorfer Alm, it is worth stopping for a bite to eat, as the cuisine here is highly recommended. Afterwards, you continue pushing up to the saddle, where several beautiful panoramic views open up. This is where the trail descent on the Stoisa Trail begins. At difficulty levels S1 to S2, you ride steadily downhill along the ridge towards Zihagas.
There are several variants further on. On the right, you can take the path towards Gasthof Hinterm Brunn and ride back to the starting point from there. Alternatively, there is a trail descent on the south side, which is technically more challenging and ranges between difficulty levels S2 and S3. When crossing the Uphill, you also have the option of continuing along the trail, which turns into a karnweg halfway down, or crossing to the west and riding down a longer single trail. This has difficulty level S2, occasionally S3 and is a little washed out in places.
At the end, you reach the shore of Lake Weissensee again and roll back to Techendorf on the road.
Note: The route is located on Austrian territory and leads over routes that are not approved for mountain bikers. Riding this route on a mountain bike is the responsibility of each individual, in full awareness of the legal situation.

Cool, finally a tour from home. Biking in the Drau Valley and around Lake Weissensee is always fantastic! Unfortunately, it's not always clear whether you're allowed to ride the trails or not.
