Lissabon City Ride
Description
The route starts in the riverside area of Lisbon's Belem district. You climb up through residential streets until you reach the first city park at a traffic circle. Here you go back and forth, usually on single trails, sometimes in view of the highway, then back into the dense forest. Finally, you cross the highway and head into the other part of Monsanto Park. Again, you go back and forth, ideally following the GPS track or simply riding through the forest at random. There are plenty of attractive single trails here. Once you've had your fill of trails, ride down towards Sao Domingos de Benfica and roll over to the university and government area on cycle paths. You soon reach the large avenue of King Eduado VII, along which you roll down into the city center. We recommend a first aperitif in the small park above the train station, before heading into the city center for dinner. There are plenty of options along the banks of the Rio Tejo, along which you can also cycle back to Belem.

We rode the tour today. What can I say... HAMMER...!!!!
However, we started directly at Monsanto at the campsite. This has the charm that the fun starts pretty soon, but the disadvantage that you have to climb the hill again at the end - after dinner. And then you have to do it in the dark.
If you generally prefer biking to visiting a city, but don't want to miss out on a brief insight into Lisbon, then you absolutely have to do this tour. The trails are super fun and the ride at the end through the old town and along the sea is just great. Definitely do it if you want to do something different from all the other tourists in Lisbon. There seems to be a powerful bike community in Lisbon.
