Selvino Enduro-Trails

Selvino (Bergamo)

North of Bergamo, a gondola lift rides from Albino up to Selvino. Bike transportation is a matter of course and the region is full of single trails. This four-man combo combines the most famous descents into a crisp enduro tour.

Description

Departure 1: From Selvino, you climb up a little and reach the gondola lift up to Monte Poieto. If you want to extend the day a little: there is a freeride route created for bikers here. You can take it, but the actual descent starts at the back. A meadow trail leads down to Ganda, where you enter the forest at a farm and find yourself on a flowing and varied single trail. It becomes increasingly challenging over time, especially after the chapel, but eventually becomes somewhat overgrown and leads to the road right next to the valley station.

Departure 2: You ride through the village of Selvino, past the chairlift and then climb up an asphalt and later a gravel road until the singletrail begins on the western flank of Monte Purito. This starts off smoothly, then becomes a little more challenging before becoming steep and demanding at Pian della Loera on the right, but then smooth and easy again until you reach the first houses of Nembro. On side roads, you roll back to Albino and up to the valley station of the gondola lift.

Departure 3: Once again, you ride into the village of Selvino, but then climb up before the chairlift to circle Monte Purito on the eastern side on a singletrail. In this way, you reach Pian della Loera as before, but now follow the ridge until just before Monte Cereto. If you want, you can walk up to the summit for a good panoramic view. The singletrail descent leads over the ridge to Villa Rumi and later on a super flowy trail back to Albino.

Departure 4: The final descent is the shortest of the four descents and leads from the mountain station directly down to Albino. To do this, you pass the vacation homes at Parco di Ama and then follow the single trail that leads in serpentine mode directly down to the valley station.

Note: The cable car rides every hour, but not always, sometimes every half hour. Be sure to study the timetable before the tour.

Yes, the train rides. Every hour. Makes planning difficult. No catering at the valley station. Waiting and twiddling our thumbs... but there are nice restaurants in Selvino. The trails were better than expected, although a little maintenance would be necessary. If you're passing through, a detour to Albino is fine.
