The southern part of the island of Krk not only offers beautiful bathing bays, but also plenty of enduro riding opportunities on the highest mountain ridge at Veli Vrh / Brestovica.

Description

The tour starts on the west side of the island of Krk in Punat, near the town of Krk. From the idyllic harbor, the tour begins with a crisp uphill climb up the southern slope on gravel before briefly meeting the main road D102. The uphill continues on this road before finally turning off onto a side road towards the summit. At the saddle, you then turn right, also on asphalt and gravel, and finally reach Veli Vrh at an altitude of 540 meters above sea level. Although the absolute altitude is not particularly high, the summit offers an impressive view.

From here, the actual descent begins with difficulty levels S2 to S3, due to the karst in the region. You pass Brestovica and reach an outstanding single trail. Here it is important to stay active on the bike and maintain a good basic speed. After overcoming a rock garden, the trail descends steeply. In the lower section, there are also some man-made structures in the trail, including jumps, which should be carefully inspected as the landing is crucial. There is both a left and a right variant at the end of the trail, both with a similar level of difficulty.

Finally, you return to the main road and roll back to the starting point on asphalt.
