Hlam
Description
The tour starts in Baška. From here, the route runs parallel to the main road on gravel to Draga Bašćanska and then follows the main road to the turn-off to the plateau. Up to here, the climb is relatively easy and unspectacular. However, this changes when you reach the plateau towards the summit. A breathtaking lunar landscape opens up and a magnificent view of the Mediterranean and the island of Krk reveals itself. You follow an extremely wide and unpaved path almost to the summit at just under 500 meters above sea level. The last sections have to be pushed before you reach the finish.
The descent is similar to the ascent. On typical karst, you descend again on difficulty S2 to the wide gravel road. Take this road, including a short push section, and you will soon end up on a completely paved mule track. This mule track rides on difficulty levels S0 to S1 almost perfectly through the landscape down to the chapel of St. Ivana. At the chapel, it becomes a little more difficult and continues on S1 to S2 just above towards Baška. You then pedal another 100 meters uphill to the next trail entrance. Past Zakam, which you can also take with you as a magnificent viewpoint, there is another quite varied trail section before returning to Baška and the magnificent beach.
In view of the topographical location of the island of Krk, the tour is not really advisable in the summer months of July and August due to the high temperatures and the large number of tourists.
