Duyes Kreten-Trail
Description
The route to the start of the Kreten Trail is easy to follow: From the village of Malijai, you follow a gently ascending asphalt road through the entire Duyes Valley. After around 22 kilometers, things get a little steeper - the road leads up to the Col de l'Hysope and on to the Col de Font-Belle. However, our route turns left beforehand - at the Scouts et Guides de France Centre Feux Nouveaux - and follows a gravel road up to the Col de Mounis, the actual entry point to the Crete Trail.
And this makes it clear from the start what is to come: a steep climb leads up to the Sommet de Corbeau, accompanied by an impressive panorama: on one side the Digne region, on the other the wide valley floor of Sisteron. Then the seemingly endless trail orgy begins: the single trail runs constantly along the ridge - sometimes flowing downhill, then rolling flat again, often interrupted by short but powerful climbs that push even e-mountain bikers to their limits. Section after section, kilometer after kilometer - pure singletrail, with only one short interruption: a short gravel climb before the trail continues seamlessly.
The majority of the route is in the S2 difficulty range. Only in the last few kilometers, shortly before the return to Malijai, does it get a little steeper and more challenging, with a few crisp descents and narrower passages.
After this epic high-altitude ride, you return to the starting point of Malijai - with a real trail experience and no less than 25 kilometers of almost continuous singletrail. You don't find that every day!

I rode the trail in july 25. As preparation:
25km singletrail does NOT mean:
That it is mainly downhill [ok]
That a trail is usually fun to ride
That a singletrail is not usually a doubletrack
However, the view at the top is mega, a trail/tour is better ridden somewhere else
