Le Cousson
Description
From Digne-les-Bains, the ascent up to Les Dourbes is a relaxed start. A long, rewarding trail traverse with some classic Terres-Noires sections begins here. The trail winds its way around the Feston mountain - first slightly uphill, then mostly slightly downhill, occasionally interrupted by short counter-climbs. In this way, you circle the entire ridge and finally reach the road on the back of it.
After a short descent, a well-maintained gravel road branches off to the left, which now leads up towards Cousson. It ends just below the ridge. The last few meters have to be pushed, fit e-mountain bikers usually manage it in the saddle. This is how you reach the ridge just below the summit. A detour on foot to the Cousson is worthwhile because of the spectacular view, but you don't need to lug your bike with you - the direct descent from the summit is a steep meadow path that is not particularly fun to ride.
It gets more exciting from the Pas de Boudillon: the singletrail descent on the steep western side starts off rough and is challenging at a solid S3 level. After the first tight hairpin bends, the trail becomes more playful and flowy. In an agile mix of roots and forest floor, you rush down through the winding forest to the riverbed of the Bléone. From here, you follow the valley floor slightly uphill back to the center of Digne - a stylish end to a tour with panoramic peaks, trail flow and Terre Noire flair.

Super tour with lots of single trails
Fantastic tour! Possibility to reach the summit of the Cousson via a small path on the right before the path leading directly upwards.
