Landstuhl-Rundtour
Description
We start at the beautifully situated Nanstein Castle, the view from the castle and the ruins themselves are the ideal start to a mountain bike tour with many highlights. Immediately after the castle, we take a short descent before alternating between the road and wider forest paths. Now we take a long, flowing trail directly past the Heidenfelsen rock. We take the next ascent on a side road before taking a single trail to the Bärenlochweiher pond. Now we cycle uphill above Kindsbach on the old Steigstrasse, then slightly downhill past the rock bench. The bench is spectacularly integrated into the rock and offers not only a nice rest but also a good picture motif. Now follows a beautiful downhill trail towards Einsiedlerhof. We ride over the large and small mountain to the ruins of Perlenburg Castle, just a short detour from our route.
We ride past the Mühlberger Hütte to Gelterswoog. This idyllic bathing lake can be used for a quick refreshment with a dip in the cold water. We then ride through the dense forest to the small village of Bann. We cross the village and ride to the big local mountain, the highest point of our tour! After the rapid descent, we take a short trail to the Bärenloch
Now we cycle over a beautiful, longer trail descent past the Herrengärtchen to Landstuhl. Here you have the option of shortening the tour and returning directly to the starting point. If you want to continue enjoying this tour, you can follow the Burgweg for a short, varied ride over some easier trail sections and forest paths via the Geigerhof forester's lodge, past the Hinkelstein, to the Bildschacherhof. You can enjoy the wonderful view in the open field before heading back to our starting point via a beautiful viewpoint and a wonderful downhill trail past bizarre rocks.
