Le Solem
Description
After the start in Vagney, there is a long warm-up before the first trail. The climb to La Croix des Hêtres rides along country roads and is never really steep. The route then switches to gravel and after a few final meters of altitude, the descent begins. Despite the moderate technical difficulty, you should be on your guard, as there is a short and steep rock step to master on the trail. The descent ends in a small road that leads up to Chèvreroche. The next descent is in the style of the first: a beautiful forest trail without any technical surprises, which crosses the Route de Chèvreroche several times. Back to Vagney along the main road, then on the other side of the valley to Nol. The second main ascent starts here, riding on asphalt to the Col de Cheneau, before continuing on gravel to the Col de Longeroye. From here it gets steeper until you reach the top and the descent begins at the Grotte du Loup. This is a real highlight and a little gem for lovers of long, rooty forest trails. The descent offers plenty of variety almost to the bottom of the valley. Afterwards, it's just a few hundred meters back to the parking lot.
