Col de Lauvi

Col de Lauvi

The tour from Saulxures-sur-Moselotte over the Col de Lauvi and back is at most a half-day tour. However, it offers a beautiful panoramic view, but above all a first-class and varied, sometimes challenging singletrail descent.

Description

Leave Saulxures-sur-Moselotte in a northerly direction. At the end of the village, head uphill on a small road on the right-hand side of the Rupt de Bâmont stream. After Moyenseux, cross the stream and take the left side of the valley past the Col des Hayes and on to the Col de Lansau. From here, the route rides along a trail around the hill to the Col de Lauvi. The trail continues to the Etang de Zefeu and leads to a small hill from where the descent starts. After a short section in the forest, you ride into open terrain, from where you have a view over the valleys at Haut du Comte. The view is good, but the descent is better, with plenty of flow but also a few technical surprises such as ledges. After another section in the forest, you are once again out in the open before crossing the road and heading back into the forest and the final descent. Once at the bottom of the valley, you ride along three meadows back to Saulxures-sur-Moselotte.
