Mangfall – Fentberg
Description
The Fentberg is the first elevation south of Munich. You start in Grub and ride down into the rustic Mangfall valley. On the left bank, the forest road and trail alternate until you pass under the Mangfall highway bridge and turn right back onto the forest road. After about two kilometers, the trail climbs steeply and crosses the railroad tracks. You then ride to Oberdarching and keep left. Now the climb up the Fentberg begins. For 2.6 kilometers and 180 vertical meters, the route climbs over a few ramps until you reach a high plateau. Here you have a wonderful view of the Upper Bavarian mountains. Cross the meadow past the grazing cows into the forest and continue riding on a beautiful forest floor until a short, fast downhill leads past a few houses. Now there is a fast forest road descent until you arrive back in Oberdarching. From here, the route continues for a few kilometers through the villages before turning back into the forest behind Hochdilching. A brisk trail with a few steep steps leads us to the end of the tour. The difficulty level of the tour is S2 with one S3 passage.

A leisurely one-bike tour if you are coming back from an injury or want to cycle the first few meters after winter. "Trail" is not really to be found. Short passages along the Mangfall valley, otherwise forest roads. More suitable for gravel bikes.
