Mattekopf – Frommes-Trail
Description
The route starts in the village of Prutz in the Inn Valley. From here, the route winds its way up the main road to Ladis, initially somewhat steeply and later on asphalt. Here you are already in the middle of the central area of the tour. What is a ski resort in winter has mutated into a magnificent bike network in the middle of the Alps in summer. The route up to the Fisser Joch (2436 meters above sea level) on the official bike route is a pleasant forest highway that makes pedalling relatively easy. From the Fisser Joch, the route then climbs relatively steeply up to the Schönjöchl reservoir with a fabulous panoramic view. The first descent begins at this point. At difficulty levels S1 to S2, you surf down an official bike route with many hairpin bends along the ridge. This continues until you reach the Frommes reservoir. Now cross it to the Mattekopf (Frommes cross). Now continue in the same manner. On a very flowing single trail, the descent to the tree line is fantastic. In the lower area (approx. 1600 meters above sea level) you then dive into natural single trails that ride down to Ladis. Now it's time to get down to business again on a natural single trail to above the Prutz campsite. The tour ends directly at the road bridge. All in all, a very varied tour with a high proportion of trails, which can be made considerably easier by using the cable car as a shuttle for the ascent.
Note: The route is located on Austrian territory and leads over routes that are not approved for mountain bikers. Riding this route on a mountain bike is the responsibility of each individual, in full awareness of the legal situation.

I rode the tour on 02.11.2024. Without the lift as it was already closed.
I started in Ried where I also went up to Fiss on tar. Now the ski slope began.
The art trail on the Fisser Joch is also worth seeing. The view at the highest point is amazing.
The descent is very long but well worth it! You can do it again.
