Retterschwanger Tal
Description
The tour starts at the Hornbahn valley station, from where you set off westwards on cycle paths. The first section of the route rides up to Imberg and on to the Straußberg Alpe. It is worth taking a break at the Alpe before continuing up a steep section to the Straußbergsattel. Once at the top, an exciting descent to the Mitterhaus awaits on a bumpy single trail.
After the descent, you enter the Retterschwanger Tal, a natural pearl of the Allgäu, which delights with its untouched landscape. You roll down the valley, staying on the right-hand side of the valley. The gravel road eventually turns into a wonderful single trail that hugs the wooded valley flank and eventually leads to Bruck.
For those whose strength is slowly dwindling, there is now the option of rolling along the valley floor back to the valley station and using the gondola for the ascent. This makes it easier to access the final descent. If you still have energy left, you can climb up the east side to the Hornalpe under your own steam. The so-called "Black Course", a varied and challenging bike park trail, awaits there as the conclusion of the tour.

Bikers are not allowed on the steep section to the Straußbergsattel up to Mitterhaus. Leaves a bad aftertaste and you have to expect discussions with hikers. For me, not a very rewarding descent over countless wooden steps. Rettenschwanger Tal is very beautiful and a super flowing trail. 500 m ascent to Hornalpe with an average gradient of 13%; everything is asphalted and you get to the top quickly - but it's tough and requires your inner bastard not to push up ;)
