The Sex Riond is one of the most scenic places in the Sion region and is particularly attractive for mountain bikers thanks to its single trail descent.

Description

The ascent rides along small roads from Sion via La Muraz through the vineyards to Chandolin-près-Savièse. Continue on the main road to Daillon and finally on an alpine road to Alp Chaux d'Aïre. 1500 vertical meters are done, the last 50 ride over a single trail, where the bike has to be pushed a few times. Sex Riond at the very top of the mountain flank is the highest point of the tour. The actual descent begins behind the Gîte de Lodze with a fun singletrail to Tsamperon and a forest path to the mountain road to Aven. At the St-Bernard chapel, follow the water pipes downhill on a trail until the path turns into a small road at a reservoir. Follow this through the vineyards to Vétroz and finally back to Sion.
