Trentapassi

Cima Trentapassi (Lago d'Iseo)

The Corna Trentapassi is one of the top panoramic mountains on Lake Iseo. The extraordinary descent directly down to the lake is ideal for bikers: a steep, tricky but impressive single trail for fans of solid riding technique.

Description

The starting point for the tour to Cima Trentapassi is Marone on Lago d'Iseo. Climb up a road to the village of Zone and reach the impressive rock pyramids, which are well worth a stop. Later, you pass the village of Zone and climb further up a steep concrete road to the Forcella Occidentale Trentapassi (964 meters above sea level). On the remaining 85 meters up to Forcellina del Zuf, the bike has to be pushed from time to time. The same applies if you want to climb the summit of Corna Trentapassi (1192 meters above sea level) by bike. The bike has to be carried and pushed uphill, but it is possible to descend on the summit trail. As a rule, however, the bike is deposited at the saddle, particularly because the summit is a very popular destination for hikers. However, the summit ascent is a must, the view of Lake Iseo, the Bergamo Alps and the Adamello massif is spectacular.

The descent down to Lake Iseo begins at Forcellina del Zuf, the character is revealed right from the start: steep and challenging. A treat for those with good riding technique, but not recommended for everyone else. This is how you wind your way down the steep terrain, with the path becoming smoother in between until you reach an exposed ridge. From there, you head into the final section, which once again demands everything in terms of riding technique. The difficulty of the downhill trail here is S4 with numerous S5 sections. Don't just concentrate on the trail because the scenery and panorama are stunning. In places, it feels like you are riding vertically above Lake Iseo. With this level of difficulty, you descend to the village of Vello and then roll leisurely along the lake back to Marone. Conclusion: a scenically fascinating tour, but only recommended for very good cycling technicians who enjoy a challenge.
