Zwickauer Hütte
Description
The route starts in Moos in Passeier. From here, the cycle path winds its way through agricultural hamlets, past Bruggstein and on towards Hütterwirt to the main road into the Pfelders valley. From here, the route follows the asphalt road to Pfelders and then climbs relatively steeply towards Eisjöchl. At an altitude of around 1800 meters above sea level, you leave the forest road and only push or carry your bike up to an altitude of 2979 meters above sea level. The seemingly endless ascent is rewarded with a fabulous panorama and an absolute sense of adventure. At 2979 meters above sea level, you reach the final destination of the tour, the Zwickauer Hütte. It's well worth a stop for refreshments. Directly behind it are the Seelenkogel, the Planferner and the state border with Austria.
The descent follows the ascent route 6A to the Schneidalm. From difficulty S1 to S3, everything is included. In the upper section in particular, there are also very exposed sections that should be ridden with caution. From the Schneidalm, the trail levels off at difficulty S2 and leads back to Pfelders. From Pfelders, there are a few valley trails downhill parallel to the road. These can also be bypassed. At Camping Bergkristall, take the next flow trail, which turns into a toboggan run. You wind your way towards Unterwalder and then out of the valley to Platt. The brilliant trail finale begins from Platt. At difficulty level S2, you then return to the starting point via the Passer Schluchtweg trail.
