Schön schnell: BMC taktet das Fourstroke höher
Fourstroke 01 and Fourstroke are cross-country bikes designed to exceed the demands of the world's best mountain bikers. On board are 100 millimetres of front and rear suspension travel and a carbon frame with integrated protective elements serves as the basis. Both series are designed around the so-called BWC geometry, which now allows the use of two water bottles in the main frame for long distances.
Exclusive to the 01 series is the new Autodrop technology, which allows the seatpost to be lowered instantly at the touch of a button for even greater speed. Riders no longer have to dismount to lower the saddle, as it can be intuitively adjusted in two positions. The result? More speed, faster lap times and less fatigue for that split-second advantage that could ultimately win the race.
The Fourstroke LT is the third bike in the round. The focus here is on mountain bikers who want to ride challenging trails. The Fourstroke LT is designed for trail racing at XC speed, thanks to 120 millimetres of APS suspension travel and the so-called BWC geometry with a full carbon frame, which includes space for two water bottles, an integrated fork stopper and frame protection.
Better power transmission
The Fourstroke family is characterized by an incomparable power transmission. According to the Grenchners, the redesigned chassis and rear triangle offer excellent torsional and bottom bracket stiffness. The rear triangle now has a second vertical brace, which increases stiffness when pedaling by 20 percent.
The internal cable routing is routed through the front frame triangle, the lower link and the rear triangle, which should make maintenance of the Fourstroke models child's play. For long distances, the models have a tire clearance of 62 millimeters to accommodate modern 2.4 inch cross country tires. An integrated fork stopper, a chainstay protector and the mud flap on the lower link protect the frame. The 01 series also has special access on the seat tube, which makes servicing the autodrop seatpost much easier.Geometry update
There are also new features in the geometry: The head angle of 66.5˚ and the long front are tailored to a fast riding style to tackle steep and difficult routes. The 429 millimeter short chainstays deliver power and traction on the most technical sections, while the lowered bottom bracket and steep seat angle of 76.7 degrees should ensure perfect weight distribution and handling.
