Description

Like most Chasseral routes, this one also starts in the center of Biel/Bienne. Follow the main road along the lake for a while until the route begins parallel to the road just above Vingelz. This rides along forest and estate roads through the vineyards to Twann. The route then climbs via Schernelz to Prêles, then over the Montagen de Diesse to Nods and up the mountain road to the summit of the Chasseral. The descent begins unspectacularly on the little road to Vacherie de Nods, but this is where the beautiful forest and meadow singletrail begins, which joins a little road far below. Follow this to the right as far as the central square, then head downhill on the road for a short distance before turning left towards Bison Ranch, where the singletrack trail down to the Métairie de Prêles soon begins on the left. Follow the valley floor towards Nods, but then bear right towards Diesse and Lamboing. The route then follows a small road through the Twannbach gorge, climbs a little further to Gaicht and then returns to Vingelz and Biel via Tüscherzberg.
