Tour de Seeland

The 120-kilometre marathon takes you around the entire Bernese Seeland between Biel, Solothurn and Bern. Less riding technique but a good level of fitness is required on this route.

Description

If you don't have a lot of training kilometers in your calves on this tour, you'd better make a note of the train stations along the route! You start in Bern through the Bremgartenwald forest and mainly follow the routes of Cycling in Switzerland to Hinterkappelen and further along the northern shore of Lake Wohlen. The route rides along the Aare to Aarberg and then follows the Hagneck Canal to Täuffelen. Along Lake Biel you reach Nidau and then ride along the Nidau-Büren Canal and then the Aare to Solothurn. 75 kilometers have been completed. Rivers also characterize the next part of the tour, which rides along the Emme to Kirchberg. You follow the cycle route to Schönbühl and Zollikofen. Cross the railroad bridge at Worblaufen and Tiefenau to finally reach the city center of Bern again.

Alternatives: The tour can be supplemented with singletrail sections as required, making it an attractive and unusual two-day tour.

Shuttles: Return journey from any location by train
