Bantiger (Burgdorf)
Description
From Burgdorf, follow the Emme to Oberburg, where the first of four ascents begins. Country and forest roads ride 300 meters up to Wasenegg before descending steeply into the Biembach valley. Follow the road up the valley and then turn left to Ränzi. The second ascent is complete and you reach Lindental via Diepoldshuse and a short climb in the opposite direction. Here you now climb up to the Bantiger, which you reach via Ferenberg and Bantigen. You have to push your bike for the last 40 meters up to the transmitter mast (or you can reach the summit via the forest path from the east). Now follows the long descent to Thorberg, which always rides along the singletrail along the ridge. The downhill fun comes to an end in Krauchthal, followed by ascent number four, this time up to Zimmerberg. The reason for this effort is the upcoming singletrail into the Unterbärgetal valley. Finally, you return to Burgdorf through the Pleerwald forest.
Alternatives: From Krauchthal through the Underbärgetal valley to Burgdorf

The Zimmerberg Trail (from km 39) is closed. It is better to ride on the left-hand side at Krauchtal through the woods to Burgdorf. There are a few easy trails there.
I described suggestions for improving the Bantiger on 18.9.2023 here https://www.ride-mtb.com/de/touren/bantiger-ostrunde
A beautiful tour which can be ridden almost all year round. As already described, it has a lot of tar (14km) and only a little singletrail (7km) and a lot of gravel roads (23km). The section where there is a risk of falling can easily be negotiated on foot, as there is plenty of space. At km 41 the trail is closed and barricaded with many felled trees. It is not worth going around the barricades, the trail is really not passable, I have tried it, even on foot it is very difficult. The best thing to do there is to go straight ahead onto the Krauchtalstrasse.
Trail from Bantiger great, but the 20km before are a joke and have nothing to do with MTB. more like road bike to gravel... It doesn't always have to be singletrack, but 2 tar descents are really tragic! For all those who want to get down from the Bantiger, find another way up there, there are much better "journeys"!
Between Klosteralp and Krauchtal, the trail leads over a very narrow ridge in places, which is probably only passable for very few people. There is a clear danger of falling (also signposted as such on the trail). It is also too narrow in places for pushing, so you have to carry the bike. If you slip, at least the bike will fall down. This section is far more dangerous than the rest of the trail and should be more clearly marked.
More of a fitness build-up on Emmental "ramps" with beautiful views. Lots of asphalt, single trails only in the last third of the tour from Bantiger.
