Hoher Randen
Description
The starting point is the village of Fützen at the northern foot of the Randen. From here, you climb up an asphalt road to the Hoher Randen with its impressive viewing platform not far from the Randenhütte. Especially in foehn weather, you can enjoy a magnificent view of the Alps and the Upper Black Forest from here, nestled in a lovely Alpine foothills landscape. The first single trail begins near the Randenhütte, which rides smoothly through the forest at S0 level to the Hohhengscht ridge. This is where the impressive trail descent to Bargen begins, which even reaches S2 level at times.
From Bargen, you climb the opposite ridge via a small road and follow this on asphalt cycle paths to the village of Randen. The route then continues on forest roads until an attractive S1 trail suddenly branches off to the left and rides to the industrial area of Blumberg. After crossing the main road, you soon reach the next trail, which rides to the summit of the Buchberg. There you are once again presented with a fascinating panorama, similar to that of the Hoher Randen. Even more spectacular than the panorama, however, is the singletrail descent to the Wutach. It starts with numerous serpentines (easy to roll) and then changes to a trail mode reminiscent of alpine terrain. The trail follows the partly steep terrain, varying between crisp, steep passages and flatter, maneuverable sections. An exceptionally attractive trail descent that is surprising in this area. The trail ends at a country road that leads back to Fützen.
For technically experienced riders with a flair for adventure, shortly afterwards there is a turn-off to the right onto the trail through the Wutach Gorge. Caution: This trail resembles a Suonen trail in Valais in places and rides through very steep terrain, but is extremely narrow. Hikers cannot be passed, especially in the first section, and mountain bikers may have to be prepared to backtrack a little to find a wider section. Out of consideration for the hikers, the trail should not be ridden in groups, ideally only in pairs. You will also have to push your bike for a few meters along the trail. Those looking for adventure will enjoy the trail through the Wutach Gorge; everyone else is better off riding straight back to the starting point on the country road.
Note: The tour is located in Baden-Württemberg with the legal requirement of a two-meter rule. This tour contains elements that do not comply with this regulation. Rather, it reflects routes that are ridden by local mountain bikers. Compliance with the regulations is the responsibility of each individual mountain biker.

Can agree with "Schalli" so far. But the Wutach Gorge is exhausting for the most part, technically demanding, rideable (blocked). As described by Ride, you can descend from time to time to overcome individual passages. The narrow path is also no problem if you are friendly towards the hikers. A very beautiful section of the tour that is required for this tour to be considered a mountain bike tour. In my opinion, the tour is not a highlight.
If you are looking for beautiful trail tours, this is not the right tour for you. It's more of a good workout and something for CC riders. This tour can definitely not be described as a trail festival.
The descent at Buchberg is fun and varied (relatively steep but very rideable).
Apart from that, the scenery is very beautiful. The Wutach Gorge is certainly nice to hike, but absolutely nothing for mtb. Very exposed, very overgrown and narrow, a constant up and down (also with stairs) and also no pleasure for downhill-oriented mountain bikers.
