Passo Pordoi hoch zwei

Marmolada

Almost even better than the Sella Ronda: this scenically spectacular enduro tour around the Passo Pordoi scores with four lift rides and plenty of Elevation loss.

Description

100 lifts including bike transport: the "Dolomiti Supersummer Ticket" makes it possible. And it's also a real bargain. One day costs 47 euros, on three out of four days you pay 110 euros, on five out of seven days 147 euros. And immerse yourself in the legendary trail world of the "Pale Mountains".  One of the most fascinating spots is the mountain region around the once strategically important Passo Pordoi, which is criss-crossed by a dense network of military trails. If Val Gardena is still German-speaking and lickety-split, the 1800-strong village of Canazei with its heavenly pointed church makes you feel like you're in the real Italy. The mountain villages in the upper Fassa Valley exude genuine Don Camillo and Peppone charm. Nobody speaks Tyrolean here. But like all Italians, the people of Fassa love all things two-wheeled. Racing cyclists speed over the Pordoi, Fedaia and Pellegrino passes. Families cruise down into Val di Fiemme on the newly asphalted cycle path - and back on the cycle bus. And bikers will be magically drawn up to the jagged peaks between Sella, Sassolungo and Marmolada.

A top-class flowing enduro tour rides up to Passo Pordoi twice with lifts. Start with the morning lift ride from Canazei (1442 m) up to Col di Rosc (2383 m). Ride to the Baita Fedarola (2370 m) to warm up, have your first espresso and then let it rip downhill: always within sight of the Pordoi pass road, you reach the Fodom valley station (1850 m). Let yourself float back up to Passo Pordoi (2117 m) and then cross below the military cemetery visible from afar over to Rifugio Burz (1936 m). From here, the route descends steeply to Arabba (1601 m). Once at the bottom, you float up to Porta Vescovo (2478 m) in a high-capacity gondola. Grande finale: down to Fodom one last time, back up by chairlift to Passo Pordoi (2117 m) and down to Canazei on the fantastic bike park trails, shortening and crossing the pass road. In between, you can still be transported back a hundred years in time in the Art Nouveau hotels Savoia and Pordoi at the top of the pass, just like in the Italo time machine.
