Enduro Gardena-Marmolada
Description
The Marmolada Enduro is one of the most beautiful but also longest enduro tours in the Dolomites! It's time to start the day early in the morning. The first destination is the Sella Pass. From S. Cristina in Val Gardena we take the cycle path to Selva Gardena and from there take the gondola up to Ciampinoi. A short descent leads down to Plan del Gralba, from where two lifts take you up to Gran Paradiso. A gravel road takes you down to the Sella Pass house. If you don't want to make this transfer and start the tour, take the bike shuttle to Passo Sella early in the morning and join the route here. From the Passo Sella hut, you pedal up a gravel road towards the Friedrich August hut and then plunge down a rough S3 trail from the Forcella Rodella (2318 m) into the Fassa Valley. In Canazei, the cable car up to Col dei Rossi awaits. Now a flowing trail leads down to Fodom and on to Arabba. This is the shorter version. The more fun version takes the cable car up to Passo Pordoi and from there on the super trail via Burz down to Arabba. The gondola takes you up again, this time to the south to Porta Vescovo (2478 m). The view up here is second to none! The highlight is of course the Marmolada (3343 m), the highest mountain and the "queen" of the Dolomites. Not very royal: a good hundred years ago, the Marmolada was the scene of the mountain war between Austria-Hungary and Italy.
But back to the here and now! Riding technique freaks venture down the Direttissima to Lake Fedaia. But beware: this very technical and blocked trail is rated S3 to S4. At the dam wall, it's time to take a breather! From here, another very long and challenging trail (S2 to S3 with a key S4 section) leads down to Canazei. Still got power? From Campitello (1402 m), take the cable car back up to Col Rodella (2387 m). Grande finale: Via the "Kuscheltrail" you reach the Sella Pass again and whizz down via the Comici hut (2153 m) and Monte Pana to S. Cristina (S0 to S2) shortly before sunset.

Super tour, highly recommended. The descent to the reservoir is prohibited for bikers. We took a different trail down, which was a bit adventurous in the lower part. Ridden on 30.07.22
