Langkofel-Umrundung (Gegenuhrzeigersinn)
Description
From the starting point of Selva Gardena in Val Gardena, you initially cycle down the valley on the cycle path via Santa Cristina to Ortisei and then take the gondola lift up towards the Alpe di Siusi to Mont Seuc. If you want to climb the Seiser Alm under your own steam, ride up from St. Christina via Saltria to the wonderful plateau. From the Alpe di Siusi you climb up on small roads, pass the Edelweiss hut and reach the Mahlknechthütte a little later. There is now a direct route towards the Mahlknechtjoch, but biking is prohibited on this section. If you want to avoid the short descent and the ascent on the opposite side, push your bike along this trail. On (steep) gravel roads, you reach the Mahlknechtjoch (Passo Duron) a little later, the transition to Val di Fassa. The main part of the ascent is now complete. However, it is another 200 meters up to the Plattkofelhütte hut, which leads over a long and easy to ride trail. The Plattkofelhütte is the ideal place for refreshments before continuing around the Plattkofel rock massif via Val di Fassa.
The descent into Val di Fassa begins with a first-class and varied singletrail down to Rifugio Micheluzzi. There is now a section of ascent on a gravel road before the next flowing single trail rides down to the village of Campitello in Val di Fassa. The return trip to Val Gardena begins with the Rodella cable car. On trails and gravel roads, you now roll down to the Passo Sella resort and climb a little further on a gravel road to the top station of the Gran Paradiso chairlift. The brilliant finish awaits: First on the Gran Paradiso Trail, then on the Easy Jump Line down to Plan del Gralba - these two routes are among the best bike trails in the region! The short way back to Selva leads along a gravel road with individual trail sections.

The trail from the Mahlknechtjoch (Passo Duron) to the Plattkofelhütte and then the trail from the Plattkofelhütte down to Val di Fassa are signposted with a bike ban. There are a lot of hikers on these trails - this is probably the reason. Alternatively, take the road down from the Mahlknechtjoch. However, this makes the tour less attractive and less fun!
