The Ricovero Elidio Francescutto is located above Forni di Sopra, in a scenically stunning setting. From there, a varied and inviting trail leads south.

Description

The tour starts right in Forni di Sopra. From here, the route winds through the small historic village, after which the surface changes from asphalt to gravel. This is followed by a climb toward Stavoli Dagousas, which is quite steep in places. From here, the forest road ends, and you’ll need to push or carry your mountain bike up Sentiero 210 to the Ricovero Elidio Francescutto. The building itself, the tour’s destination, is situated on a open meadow and offers impressive panoramic views of the Carnic Alps, especially toward Monte Pramaggiore.

The descent then begins. On Sentiero 210 and 222, the trail is generally rated S2, with occasional S3 sections. The varied descent runs mostly on forest floors, primarily through spruce forests, and is a real treat, especially when the ground is dry. Over a descent of about 900 meters, this trail variant leads directly back to Forni di Sopra at the valley floor.
