Rochers de Naye | Ride MTB

Rochers de Naye

The Rochers de Naye towers high above Montreux and Lake Geneva. A cog railroad leads to the summit, where many single trails ride back down to Lake Geneva. This is ideal terrain for enduro tours on a mountain bike.

Description

The first option is the classic descent from Rochers de Naye. It rides directly towards Villeneuve. The descent starts at the small crossing just above the mountain station. Follow the singletrail along the ridge to Creux à la Sierge. This is followed by a section on a small road until the next trail begins below Sonchaux. This rides steeply up to the first vineyards above Villeneuve. A singletrail along the height through the steep forest terrain now leads back to Montreux.
The descent variant 2 follows the southern ridge of the Rochers de Naye to the Col de Chaude. Descend a few meters on the mountain road to the first hairpin bend, then keep straight on to the ridge below the Pertuis d'Aveneyre. A crisp trail now leads down via Auféru to La Chevaleyre. The singletrail fun ends here after 1150 vertical meters, the rest of the descent is on gravel and small asphalt roads.
Option number three is the Combarosse variant. This initially rides along the same route as the route via Sonchaux (option 1), but then branches off to the right at Sautox. It is now a super trail through the meadows, later through the forest, always beautiful and fun to ride. At Combarosse, you have to cover a few meters on a gravel road, where the final section soon begins on the singletrail to Veyteux near Montreux.
The fourth descent is the easiest and is ideal as a warm-up section. You leave the train in La Perche, then take the trail to Le Paccot, which runs below the Dent de Jaman. Now it's a fun, flowing ride through the forest to Caux and finally zig-zags to Glion. Here you get back on the train to the Rochers de Naye for the next descent.

I rode the route on a Wednesday in mid-July 2026. The train from Montreux runs every hour (always at xx:34) and carries bikes in a trailer; although space is limited, I was the only cyclist on board that day. The 500-meter (150-meter elevation gain) stretch to Sautodoz is marked black on Trailforks and is practically unrideable; plus, there are many hikers, and it’s easy to dislodge loose rocks that could hit hikers further down the trail. I recommend walking this section. Otherwise, the tour is quite fun!

Variant 2 is currently very overgrown in the lower section (Petite Tour to Auferú) and almost impassable. It's a shame that the municipality doesn't take care of the trail. I don't think this descent is worthwhile!

Variant 2 has several pushing and carrying sections. For variant 3, we recommend getting off at La Perche and following the hiking trail towards La Raveyre d'en Haut. This allows you to avoid the running section from Sautodoz. We also recommend following the Vita Parcours in the opposite direction on the hiking trail to Combarosse at the first turn-off on the left (approx. 640 m above sea level) and riding along this flowing trail via Champ Babau and a loop up to the fall line of Chillon Castle to Veytaux.

Hello, I rode variants 1 and 3 today. V3 is in my opinion the better one, much more singletrail and fun. From Sautodoz you have to walk about 500m if your name is not Gwin, otherwise almost everything is easy to ride. The GPS track shows V3. The descent of both variants is in

Hello, do you also have the GPS tracks for the other three variants described for this tour?

Thank you
